I know that no one wants to learn the boring stuff, but i think that since it pertains to the topic, it needs to be here.
- Term telekinesis (literally 'far away movement' in Latin) is coined in 1890 by Alexander N. Aksakof.
- Telekinesis starts getting a bad reputation from hoaxers and frauds.
- Psychokinesis (literally 'mind movement') is then coined to create a name with a better rep, by author Henry Holt. It appears first in his book On the Cosmic Relations in 1914.
- It was suggested that the term 'Telekinesis' become a dead word, but the movie industry liked using it for its familiarity to other words like telepathy and teleportation and so on.
- In 1942, B. P. Wiesner and Robert H. Thouless came up with the term Psi as a broad term to include all forms of energy manipulation. Originally, it was divided into two categories; Psi-gamma(PK and Tk ect...) and Psi-Kappa(ESP clairvoyance, telepathy). But in loo of a more easy to understand term, they were replaced with active-Psi and passive-Psi
- Later (date unknown) John W. Campbel coins 'Psionics' (Literally 'Psyche Machine'). He referred to it as a machine of sorts.
- In 2004, a researcher named Eric Davis, PhD, classifies the two saying that "Telekinesis is a form of PK" What he is saying is that PK is a general term for any "active-psi". So pyrokinesis, amberkinesis(electrokinesis), Hydrokinesis(Aquakinesis), Ventukinesis(aerokinesis), terrakinesis etc. are all forms of Psychokinesis.
